February:

Pella starts the year good by winning the first OB2 match of the year. She sets a trend and many more nice results will follow!

April:

Pella and I compete at the FMBB in Ajdovšcina (Slovenië) in the OB2. She performs a very well and qualifiies for the finals. She again performs very good, but unfortunately we end up just below the upper half of the competitors. Still I am very satisfied and proud. And again, what an event it was!

May:

Ellis enters her very first OB-trial and performs well: she obtains her OBB diploma and wins the first price! Pella also performs good in the OB2 and also wins the first price.

May:

Pella competes in the dutch championship Obedience. Because she is in heat, she has to start as very last one and run two times the program in row. She performs well and wins! And because of her perfect competition season, she is not only Dutch Champion OB2, but also Dutch Competition Champion OB2!

May:

At the clubmatch of the NVBH I have a busy schedule: Pella andn Ace both run in the agility, Pella even wins the 2nd price in the jumping. Pella enters her very first OB3 match and to my surprise wins! Ellis is not to bad in her first OB1-match.

June:

Finally Pella and I become a team in the agility. In the match in Delft she wins the 2nd price in the agility course with an Excellent and a Winpoint! Ath the KC Zoys she again scores an Excellent.

June:

Ellis participates at the KC Zeist in the OB1 exam. Although she is a bit distracted by birds on the field and has some more 'moves', she passes the exam with an excellent and obains her OB1-prevet.
Pella enters the OB3-exam and performs fantastic. Ze obtains her OB3 with an excellent and thus has her brevet!

June:

Ellis participates in the clubmatch of the WHG Stroe in the class BH. A small track was also included for that, which she did amazingly well. The judge was very excited! She did the obedience part with very little passion, but because of her extremely well done tracking she had enough points overall to win her class.

July:

In july the successes in agility with Pella continues. She scores another 3 Excellents. Two to go for promotion to third grade!

July:

We compete in the Obedience match Germany-Holland, this time in Germany.
In an extremely hot match Pella doesnt score high in the OB3, but she did the best she could. Clearly she isn't stable enough in the OB3. Work to do!
Ellis competes in the OB1 and shows a complete refusal to do anything. Already before this match it was clear to me that she dislikes obedience and can't be motivated without food or toys. I decide to withdraw her from OB matches and build up the training differently.

July:

Ace is doing well in agility. He overccame his health problems of last year, but clearly has lost a lot of muscle power and speed. This will not come back, looking at his age (over 10 years of age) and the fact that he is castrated. Because he is slower I can keep up and direct him better and that results in clear rounds. He even wins two prices in Bemmel!
Because Ellis needs a larger training space and Ace is in his last agility days, they swap training places. Ellis can mnow run in the horseplace and Ace trains in the glasshouse. Actually I was planning to retire him, but he still has so much fun! As long as his body can hold it, he is allowed to continue in agility.

September:

I discovered canicross. Especially Ellis loves it. To know more about it I enter a workshop. Sadly Ellis is in heat, so she is not allowed to join. Pella takes her place. It is fun, we can keep up well with the 'youngsters' and it tastes like continuation!

September:

We go to the Working Groenendael Treffen in Germany. It is a very lovely event, in which we meet a lot of like-minded people. Ace, Pella and Ellis have had fun in the agility, Pella and Ellis have entered the Obedience-workshop and both did some bitework. Ellis showed very nicely that she has leared to switch between obedience and biting. Proud of her! Also we met a lot of family of Ellis and Pella.

October:

Ellis enters the BH exam at WHG Stroe. Ze passes, but she gets a very low score for her obedience part. I didn't agree with that as she actually did it quite nice, better than I had expected! But it all looks a bit sloppy, she is not very active in her heelwork. More reasons to work on that in a different way. We now started the heelwork according to the English Obedience, to make it look a bit more active.

October:

Unpland and untrained I decided to enter Pella for the IPO2 exam at WHG Stroe. She does it extremely well! As one of the few she passes the tracking. In the obedience she gets heavy subtraction for performing a front-sit in the retrieves (I tought her for obedience to sit directly next to me). The defence part she does better than anyone had expected! But as she slipps off the sleeve every time (but keeps coming back!), she fails. But boy, what a performance and how proud I am! It confirms my idea: she can do it, she only needs to be trained differently. But where....

October:

Ellis participates in teh behavioural test of the NVBH and although the outcome was a bit odd and sometimes questionable (incorrect!), she passes with great ease. Also, her exteriour has been judged and now she is approved for breeding.

October:

Pella and Ace compete in the Obilitycup, Pella wins the 2nd price in the OB3 andn Ace wins the secodn price in the agility jumping open class.

November:

Pella performs well in the Obedience, but each time something happens, that prevents her from getting a high score. In the match of the AKC Waterland all goes well and she misses an excellent score with half a point. Also half a point short for the first qualifyer for FCI-WC OB! She does win the third price. And the score is that high, that she only needs one more VG to qualify for FMBB.

November:

The last OB3 match of the year, last chance this yera for qualification for FMBB. Pella perfdorms well, but has 8 points short for qualification. She does win the first price. Next year there are two more chances for qualification. And for shure she has now qualified for the Dutch Championship OB3 in 2019.

December:

Pella and Ellis participate in the IPO-workshop of Andrej Bolan. They do very well! Andrej confirms my feeling that Pella can do proper bitework, only the training needs to be done differently. For Ellis we work on her grip. She does have a full and cal bite, but after the first bite, she slips to not-fll biting. The approach works well, so we need to continue this!

December:

Agility match KC Amsterdam in the horseplace in Nieuwe Wetering. Ace, Pella and Ellis competee.

Ace runs two clear rounds. That happens often this year, but as he is not so fast annymore, he didn't win anything. But for shure he has a lot of fun!

Pella finally scores an Excellent again, one more to go for promotion to 3rd grade!

Ellis has started agility matches in August. At first she felt the weaves too difficult to handle with her large body, but today she does it flawless. And she even wins a 4th price on Jumping 1 and an Excellent on JP2!
